Marcaspus Cleaning Consultants

Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement.

Modern slavery & human trafficking

Marcaspus Ltd t/a Marcaspus Cleaning Consultants is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our operations and supply chain. We take a zero-tolerance approach and implement robust governance, ethical sourcing standards, and strong worker protections in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Our Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement outlines the steps we take to identify, prevent, and address modern slavery risks, ensuring transparency and accountability across our organisation.

  • “Marcaspus Cleaning Consultants takes modern slavery & human trafficking risks seriously across all operations.”
  • “We conduct due diligence to prevent modern slavery & human trafficking in our supply chain.”

Our Business

Marcaspus Cleaning Consultants provides commercial, domestic, office, school, end-of-tenancy and deep-cleaning services across London. We employ vetted and trained cleaning professionals and, where required, approved subcontractors. We also source consumables—such as cleaning chemicals, gloves, bags, bin liners and uniforms—from reputable UK-based suppliers.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain includes cleaning product manufacturers, PPE suppliers, uniform providers, hire companies and specialist subcontractors (e.g., carpet cleaning).
We acknowledge that some areas may present higher vulnerability to modern slavery risks, particularly:

  • Suppliers sourcing raw materials from abroad
  • Temporary labour used for specialist tasks
  • Overseas PPE and chemical supply chains
  • Logistics and distribution networks

We monitor these areas closely and require all suppliers to comply with UK legislation and ethical labour standards.

Policies and Governance

We have implemented the following policies to support our anti-slavery commitments:

  • Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy
  • Supplier Code of Conduct
  • Whistleblowing & Safeguarding Policy
  • Right-to-Work and ID Verification Procedures
  • Environmental & Ethical Procurement Standards

These policies are approved by the Directors, who also oversee:

  • Internal risk assessments
  • Supplier approval
  • Annual policy review
  • Reporting of incidents (none to date)

Risk Assessment & High-Risk Area

Based on our assessment, the following areas may present increased risk:

  • Subcontracted labour, especially temporary or specialist service providers
  • Worker vulnerability, including migrants, women, students and refugees
  • Third-party suppliers providing consumables or PPE
  • Purchasing practices, such as short lead times or last-minute orders
  • Late client payments, which can put pressure on suppliers

We do not use:

  • Recruitment fees
  • Passport retention
  • Forced or bonded labour
  • High-risk overseas procurement without due diligence

Due Diligence Measures

To minimise risks in our operations and supply chain, we apply the following checks:

  • 100% right-to-work verification for all staff
  • ID verification and secure document control
  • Supplier declarations confirming compliance with UK modern slavery laws
  • Review of suppliers’ ethical practices and risk levels
  • Monitoring subcontractors for fair labour treatment

We continue to enhance due diligence as our business grows.

Training & Capacity Building

We ensure staff and subcontractors are educated on:

  • Identifying signs of modern slavery
  • Safeguarding vulnerable workers
  • Reporting concerns confidentially
  • Understanding their rights and protections

Tailored training is provided for management, supervisors and those involved in procurement.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

To measure progress, we track:

  1. Right-to-work checks completed before engagement
  2. Supplier compliance with the Modern Slavery Act
  3. Staff completion of modern-slavery awareness training
  4. Zero tolerance for document retention or unauthorised ID holding
  5. Annual review of suppliers and subcontractors
  6. Publication of statements within required periods
  7. Clear record of incidents (none reported)
